Conference: “Working with CLIL”

A conference titled “Working with CLIL” took place on May 11th 2019, at the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute in Nicosia. Over a hundred educators from Primary and Preprimary Education attended the event.

The conference keynote speaker was Dr. Richard Johnstone (University of Stirling) who discussed implementation of CLIL in Europe and presented related research.

The plenary presentation was followed by four workshops, two of them focusing on primary education (“CLIL in Music” by Dr. Maria Genari and “ Science and CLIL” by Dr. Zoe Kanari and Dr. Nick Shiekkeris) and two focusing on preprimary (“Mathematical storytelling” by Dr. Maria Shiakalli, Lida Ktora and Tzovanna Pourou and “Useful techniques for CLIL implementation” by Maria Makri, Niki Shiekkeri and Maro Michaelidou). The workshops offered the chance for interactive participation and exchange of good practice.
